Vol. 497 No. 2

Written Answers - Nursing Home Subventions.

Richard Bruton

Question:

256 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health and Children if the maximum level of nursing home subvention has been revised in the Estimates or the means test for this modified; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24867/98]

Decisions on the level of allocations in respect of services for older people, including nursing home services, have no yet been finalised as these must await the outcome of budgetary decisions. I can inform the Deputy, however, that it is hoped to give health boards further scope for assisting older people in private and voluntary nursing homes in 1999.
