Written Answers - Vessel Restoration.
I refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 7 of 15 October last. An application for a licence under the National Monuments Acts was received in my Department on 9 November 1998 from the Asgard restoration project to carry out certain alterations to the Asgard vessel. In accordance with normal procedures the application was forwarded to the National Museum of Ireland for consideration and recommendation in the first instance. In view of the complex nature of the application and its subject matter, it is not possible to state definitively when this examination will be finalised.
