Vol. 497 No. 2

Written Answers - Live Register.

Mildred Fox

Question:

60 Ms M. Fox asked the Taoiseach the reason unemployed disabled people are excluded from the live register. [24777/98]

Persons with a disability who meet the qualification criteria for unemployment assistance, unemployment benefit or signing for credits laid down by the Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs are included in the live register.

Persons who receive a disability related payment from the Department are not counted in the live register as in order to qualify for such payments they must be certified as unfit for work.
