Question:

63 Mr. Deenihan asked the Taoiseach if he will include the Lartigue project in Listowel, County Kerry, among the projects proposed as millennium projects; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24498/98]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 62 and 63 together.

The National Millennium Committee will examine and make recommendations to the Government on a small number of capital projects of national significance which have been proposed as millennium projects. With regard to millennium commemorative projects at a regional, county, community or local level, the committee is to examine and recommend a system of support, including funding.

All millennium project proposals received will be referred to the committee for consideration. In respect of the Lartigue project in Listowel, there is no record of a proposal having been received to date.
