Question:

36 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the number of applications received in her Department under the Freedom of Information Act, 1997; the nature and category of these applications; the number allowed and disallowed; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [24850/98]

My Department has to date received 30 applications under the Freedom of Information Act, 1997. Twenty one applications have been allowed and two applications have been disallowed, while three applications were part-allowed, one application was transferred to another public body and three applications are currently being dealt with. Of these applications, four requests were for personal records, one request was for personnel records and the remainder were for non-personal records.
