Vol. 497 No. 4

Written Answers - Criminal Assets Bureau.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

163 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he has satisfied himself regarding with the degree of co-operation the Criminal Assets Bureau is receiving from financial institutions; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25311/98]

The Criminal Assets Bureau, in pursuance of its statutory remit, has occasion to seek and obtain information and material from financial institutions.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that this is obtained in accordance with the provisions contained in various statutes and that these procedures are working satisfactorily.
