Vol. 497 No. 5

Written Answers - Public Procurement Regulations.

Paul McGrath

Question:

90 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if the same regulations exist within all State companies within her remit for the employment of outside private contractors; and if she will outline those regulations. [25447/98]

Most of the relevant State companies are bound by one or other of the EU public procurement directives in regard to contracts for the supply of goods and services which come within certain thresholds specified in the directives. All are bound by the 1992 Guidelines for State Bodies and the 1994 Guidelines on Public Procurement issued by the Department of Finance.

Apart from these, I am not aware of any other relevant regulations.
