164 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Health and Children the position in relation to the provision of a facility for adults with a mental handicap at Cootehill, County Cavan; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28023/98]
The provision of the services to persons with a mental handicap in the Cavan region is a matter, in the first instance, for the North-Eastern Health Board.
I understand from the North-Eastern Health Board that a capital allocation of £5,000 was made available in 1998 to develop a project proposal for a special care unit for adults with a mental handicap at Cootehill.
