Vol. 498 No. 5

Written Answers. - Garda Operations.

Ruairí Quinn

Question:

186 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform whether he has satisfied himself with the arrangements, if any, put in place by the Garda Síochána to ensure the continued safety of a person (details supplied) pending the trial of an individual on charges of staking, harassing and assaulting her having regard to the fact that the bail of that individual was originally revoked due to Garda information as to his behaviour while on bail and was subsequently restored by the High Court; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27992/98]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that they are satisfied that arrangements appropriate to the circumstances are in place to ensure the safety of the person to whom the Deputy refers.

As the matter is before the courts, it would not be appropriate for me to comment further.
