Eamon Gilmore

Question:

223 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the progress, if any, made to re-establish the air link between Donegal International Airport, Carrickfin and Glasgow. [1711/99]

The policy of my Department is to actively encourage and welcome new services on all routes to and from Ireland.

Aer Arann, who are operating the Donegal-Dublin air service, are at present reviewing their summer schedule and, as part of that review, are considering a number of new routes on a commercial basis including Donegal-Glasgow.

I understand that the review is at a preliminary stage and that no decision has yet been made.

224. D'fhiafriaghMr. Gilmore den Aire Fiontar Poiblí cad é an dul chun cinn atá déanta le cumhacht aibhléise a chur ar fáil d'Inis Fraoigh agus Inis Bó Finne, Contae Dhún na nGall. [1712/99]

Bhí mé i dteagmháil le Bord Soláthair an Leictreachtais faoin ábhar seo.

Tá airgead geallta don obair ag an Aire Ealaíon, Oidhreachta, Gaeltachta agus Oileán. Tá súil ag an Bord Soláthair Leictreachais tús a chur leis an obair i rith an tsamhraidh.

Tá cur i gcrích na hoibre ag brath ar an aimsir, ach bheadh súil ag Bord Soláthair an Leictreachais cumhacht leictreachais a bheith ar fáil ar an dá oileán faoi lár na bliana 2000.
