Vol. 499 No. 1

Written Answers. - Department Properties.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

737 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if, in relation to lands, properties, stocks or other valuables disposed by his Department since coming into office, he will outline to whom these were disposed and whether by tender, sale or other means; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2263/99]

My Department has not disposed of any land or property since my coming into office. As to stocks and other valuables during this period, my Department disposed of computer equipment which had become absolete to the Department's business needs. This equipment was disposed of by sale to officers of the Department in accordance with public financial procedures at a sum based on the commercial value of the equipment involved at that time and was credited to the Department's Vote.
