765 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the resources and personnel available to transpose EU directives into Irish law; if she has satisfied herself with the rate of progress of this implementation; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [1621/99]
I am satisfied, taking account of the work load and priorities of my Department that the resources and personnel are generally adequate for this purpose. While one EU directive has not been fully transposed into Irish law by its deadline date of 31 December 1998, additional resources have recently been allocated to ensure that the directive will be fully implemented by means of primary and secondary legislation and as appropriate in the case of 1999.
