Written Answers. - School Staffing.

Bernard Allen

Question:

956 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will make a statement on the application made by Scoil Chill Ruadhain national school, Glanmire, County Cork, for a child care assistant for two pupils with special needs in view of the fact that a report was submitted to his Department in 1998 by the local schools inspector and in further view of his statement on the allocation of finance for child care assistants. [1476/99]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that my Department has recently sanctioned the appointment of a special needs assistant to the school in question to support the two special needs pupils to which he refers.
