Question:

351 Mr. J. Brady asked the Minister for Education and Science his Department's proposals for the appointment of a resource teacher at Convent of Mercy primary school, Kells, County Meath, in view of the urgent need for such a provision at the school to assist teachers to provide for the needs of the students; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2714/99]

My Department's inspectorate is currently investigating the special educational needs of pupils attending the Convent of Mercy Primary School in Kells.

The outcome of this investigation will be available shortly and will provide a basis for determining the nature and level of additional support required by the pupils in question.
