112 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the criteria used for the recognition of national governing bodies of sport; the number of new organisations recognised in 1997 and 1998; and the organisations in this regard. [3115/99]
The review of criteria for the recognition of national governing bodies of sport, which is being carried out in consultation with the Irish Sports Council, will be finalised shortly. Meanwhile, no additions have been made in 1997 or 1998 to the 74 sporting organisations currently recognised for funding purposes by my Department.
