Question:235 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Finance if he will meet a representative group in relation to flooding in south Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4281/99]
Written Answers. - Flood Relief.
Following the very extreme flood events of the early 1990s, a study was commissioned to examine the causes and prepare potential solutions to the problem. The final report of this study was presented by the consultant's team at a public meeting in Gort in July 1998. All aspects of the study's recommendations were explained and discussed at this public meeting. In the light of the level of public concern, I will arange to meet a representative group as requested and I will contact the public representatives to arrange a suitable date.
