Vol. 500 No. 4

Written Answers. - Medical Cards.

Jack Wall

Question:

259 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of applicants in the Kildare region of the Eastern Health Board who are due to receive a medical card under the incoming guidelines for over 70's announced in the recent budget; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4201/99]

In the absence of detailed information on income distribution among persons aged 70 years and over living in Kildare and who do not currently have a medical card it is not possible to state how many persons will become eligible for a medical card when income guidelines are doubled.
