Vol. 500 No. 4

Written Answers. - County Enterprise Boards.

Paul McGrath

Question:

98 Mr. McGrath asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if her attention has been drawn to the fact that funding for county enterprise boards has been delayed with the resultant postponement of job approvals; the reason this delay has occurred; the action, if any, she is taking to free up the cash flow to those bodies; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4023/99]

I refer the Deputy to my reply on the Adjournment of 27 January 1999 and subsequently to a related Question No. 131 on 2 February 1999 regarding the funding of the 35 city and county enterprise boards when I clearly indicated that sufficient Exchequer moneys would be available to enable the boards to meet their administrative expenses and maturing contractual grant and other financial obligations during the first quarter and throughout 1999.
