185 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if restaurant development will be included in respect of funding from Leader groups, particularly in rural or isolated areas where no similar establishment exists. [6050/99]

For the purposes of the Leader II programme, restaurants are considered to be conventional retail services and as such are not eligible for funding. It is not proposed to alter the position at this stage.
