Ulick Burke

Question:

193 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the plans, if any, he has to continue to pay EU headage and premia to two split herds (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6058/99]

The herd numbers in question are being amalgamated for the purchase of headage and premia payments, in accordance with the provisions of Article 2.2 of Commission Regulation 3887/92.

Jim Higgins

Question:

194 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if payment of area aid and livestock grants will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo; and, if there are any queries regarding his application, the reason he has not been informed. [6067/99]

A query arose in relation to a parcel of land that was being overclaimed by the person named. The appropriate penalty was applied, with the result that the person named has no eligible area. Maps have issued to afford the person named a final opportunity to ensure that the area digitised by my Department accurately reflects the area claimed.

Question:

198 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a headage grant due for the past two years to a person (details supplied) in County Galway will be paid; and the reason for the delay. [6079/99]

The person named submitted applications under the 1977 cattle headage scheme and the 1998 cattle headage scheme. However, as he has not supplied an RSI number in accordance with the terms and conditions of the schemes, payment cannot issue. My Department has been in contact with the person named advising him that, on receipt of his RSI number, his applications under these schemes will be further considered.
