237 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will reply to a request dated 2 August 1998 for information regarding the consultant psychiatric profession in view of the fact an acknowledgement was received to this request on 7 August 1998; and if he will make a statement on the matter. A response was issued on 31 August 1998 to a letter dated 2 August 1998 from the Deputy for information regarding the consultant psychiatrist profession. As stated in my response, many of the issues raised in the anonymous letter attached to the letter dated 2 August 1998 are dealt with in the publication, Guidelines on Good Practice and Quality Assurance in Mental Health Services, which has been issued to all the psychiatric services including all consultant psychiatrists. I am arranging to have a copy of my letter of 31 August 1998 forwarded to the Deputy.
