324 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if the transfer to Dublin Corporation of traffic wardens currently employed by the Garda Commissioners has taken place; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6015/99]
My Department agreed with Dublin Corporation to the transfer of the traffic warden service on 1 February 1999. However, the transfer did not take place on that date due to the traffic wardens unions and their legal representatives having sought further clarification on a number of issues in relation to their employment with Dublin Corporation.
My Department is currently pursuing the matter to ensure that the Government decision in regard to the transfer is implemented at the earliest possible date.
