Question:

327 Mr. E. Ryan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the amount of revenue collected in each of the years 1997 and 1998 by way of fines; if he will give a breakdown of the total under individual crimes, summary crimes and road traffic crimes; and the way in which the money is accounted for. [6020/99]

The exact information requested by the Deputy is not available. The available information on revenue collected by way of fines paid through court offices during 1997 and 1998 is set out in the following tables. The complete table for fines paid during 1998 will be forwarded to the Deputy when the relevant information for 1998 has been fully collated.
