Vol. 501 No. 3

Written Answers. - Tourism Angling Measure.

Seán Barrett

Question:

129 Mr. Barrett asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the reason for the delay in the issuing of a letter of offer to a person (details supplied) under the tourism angling measure; and if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the management committee approved grant aid of £167,500 in December 1998. [6011/99]

The Tourism Angling Measure (TAM) management committee approved European Regional Development Fund grant aid of £167,500 in September 1998 towards the acquisition of the Lower Caragh Fishery, subject to the promoters confirming title to the fishery.

I am advised that the Central Fisheries Board will advise the promoters of the TAM Management committee's decision on the matter within the next few days.
