Vol. 501 No. 3

Written Answers. - Departmental Properties.

John Perry

Question:

132 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the position regarding Sligo County Council's interest in the purchase of Erin Lodge property, Enniscrone, County Sligo, and, in particular, the letter dated 28 October 1993 from his office offering property for sale at £20,000; and if he will allow Sligo County Council to conclude the sale due to the public demand that the property would be used for public purchases, particularly community development. [6014/99]

The Moy Fishery, including Erin Lodge, was transferred to the Central Fisheries Board (CFB) in January 1994 and the care and management of the fishery (including Erin Lodge) was subsequently transferred to the North Western Regional Fisheries Board (NWRFB) on 22 January, 1999. I have asked the CFB and NWRFB for an update on the offer made to Sligo County Council for the sale of Erin Lodge and I will advise the Deputy of the position as quickly as possible.
