Vol. 502 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Willie Penrose

Question:

125 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath will be admitted to Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin, Dublin 12, for open heart surgery which needs to be carried out as soon as possible; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8507/99]

The provision of medical treatment in this case is the responsibility of the hospital concerned in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the hospital to investigate this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
