Written Answers. - Wildlife Rangers.

Thomas P. Broughan

Question:

21 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the number of additional wildlife and industrial rangers who have been or will be recruited in 1999; the location of the additional rangers; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [11160/99]

A total of 38 additional rangers, 30 of whom will be employed on a contract basis and eight on a permanent basis, to fill current vacancies, are being recruited at present through the Civil Service Commission and will be assigned to various locations throughout the country.
