Vol. 504 No. 2

Written Answers. - Farm Retirement Scheme.

Michael Creed

Question:

134 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if the farm retirement section of his Department has received a request from solicitors acting on behalf of a person (details supplied) in County Cork in respect of the transfer of a plot of ground currently leased under the farm retirement scheme to a family member for the purposes of building a new house; and, if so, if he will sanction this request. [11275/99]

Approval has been granted for the allocation of the site in question subject to the relevant documentation being furnished to my Department. As the transfer will result in a reduction in the utilisable agricultural area under the scheme, the pension payable will be proportionately reduced.
