Vol. 504 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

211 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Galway will have to wait until 27 October 1999 for an appointment for an MRI scan at Beaumount Hospital, Dublin 9, in spite of the fact that he has serious and constant back pain; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11387/99]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in this instance is the responsibility of Beaumont Hospital. I have asked the chief executive officer of the hospital to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
