Question:72 Mr. Noonan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when the next Garda recruitment campaign will take place; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12503/99]
Written Answers. - Garda Recruitment.
On 3 November last the Government approved the holding of a Garda recruitment competition in 1999. The competition was advertised in November 1998 and the first stage of the competition, i.e., the written tests, was held in late February-early March.
Recruitment requirements are kept under ongoing review in my Department and my proposals for the next competition will be a matter for consideration by the Government in due course.
