Austin Currie

Question:

212 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Health and Children the position in relation to the implementation of the development plan for James Connolly Memorial Hospital, Blanchardstown; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12630/99]

Design planning work on the proposed development at James Connolly Memorial Hospital is continuing with a view to inviting tenders later in the year and commencing construction in early 2000. Application for planning permission and a fire certificate for the project have recently been made by the Eastern Health Board to Fingal County Council.
