Vol. 505 No. 7

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Denis Naughten

Question:

67 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon has to wait four months for an eyesight test; the plans, if any, he has to reduce the waiting time; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14633/99]

The provision of hospital services to eligible persons in County Roscommon in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.

John Perry

Question:

68 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Sligo will be called for his operation in view of the length of time he is on the waiting list; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14634/99]

The provision of medical treatment in this instance is the responsibility of the North-Western Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
