Deputy Denis Naughten asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade when he plans to reopen the provision of passport services; the reason the matter was not considered a critical service due to the constitutional freedom to travel and the EU freedom of movement; if he is satisfied that all Irish citizens are being treated equally in terms of the freedom to travel based on whether they have a valid passport or require the consent of the passport office to a passport renewal; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
