61 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Education and Science the steps, if any, taken to resolve the dispute involving music teachers from Kylemore College in Ballyfermot arising from the failure of City of Dublin VEC to offer them full-time posts; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Following discussions with representatives of City of Dublin VEC and the Teachers' Union of Ireland in regard to the sanctioning of permanent appointments of music teachers in City of Dublin VEC, my Department agreed that up to five permanent appointments may be made.
I understand that a further meeting has been arranged with the TUI representatives to discuss the matter further.
