69 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the communication, if any, he has had with Birdwatch Ireland, Crann, Earthwatch and the Heritage Council regarding the need for an ecological and nature conservation unit in his Department. [15629/99]

In both written and oral communications between a number of the organisations mentioned and my Department, recommendations have been made regarding the need for an ecological and conservation unit in my Department and I am keeping this matter under consideration.
