Question:

115 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive payment under the 1998 REP scheme. [15682/99]

The person concerned lodged an application to join the REP scheme on 13 March 1998. He was accepted into the scheme and given a commencement date of 1 April 1998. First year REPS payments are made in two instalments. The first instalment issued to him on 21 April 1998 and the second instalment issued six months later on 6 October 1998.

A second year application was received on 6 May 1999. The case was chosen at random for a compliance inspection. The inspection took place on 15 June 1999. The inspection was satisfactory and his second year payment is currently being processed.
