Vol. 507 No. 4

Written Answers. - School Staffing.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

228 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will increase the access time to a remedial teacher for St. Daig's national school, Inniskeen, County Monaghan. [17054/99]

My Department has recently sanctioned the allocation of a remedial teacher post to be based in the school in question with effect from 1 September 1999. This post is to be shared with two other schools in the area.

The division of the remedial teachers time among the participating schools will be decided on the basis of the level of need for remedial tuition in each of the three schools and following consultation with the schools inspector and the boards of management concerned.
