Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Question:

302 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive extensification payments. [18555/99]

The person named applied for and was paid on six suckler cows under the 1998 suckler cow premium scheme. His area aid has now been finalised at 11.58 hectares which establishes eligibility for extensification premium.

This premium will issue to the person named in the next two weeks.

John Bruton

Question:

303 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if payment of a REP scheme grant will be sanctioned to a person (details supplied) in County Meath who made his application approximately six months ago; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18554/99]

My Department carried out a compliance inspection on the farm of the named applicant on 14 July 1999. A letter will issue very shortly informing him of penalties imposed as a result of the inspection and he will have an opportunity to appeal. On receipt of his response to the letter, my Department will be in a position to process payment to him.
