County Roscommon Vocational Education Committee has made application for an extension to Elphin vocational school and agreement has been reached on the schedule of accommodation to be provided. The question of funding does not arise until the project has successfully completed the architectural planning process.

Question:873 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason for the delay in approving the construction of Boyle community school, County Roscommon; when he will approve construction; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17795/99]
The architectural planning of the proposed new school for the community college, Boyle, County Roscommon, is proceeding. Stage 4 – detail design – is currently being considered by officials in the planning and building unit of my Department. It is intended that this project will proceed to construction when all stages of architectural planning have been successfully completed.
