Vol. 508 No. 3

Written Answers - Departmental Funding.

John Gormley

Question:

267 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he has satisfied himself that the amount of money allocated to the EPA is sufficient to carry out its work properly; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18818/99]

The funding of the Environmental Protection Agency is reviewed annually in the context of the preparation of the public expenditure Estimates and with the aim of ensuring that the agency is adequately resourced to carry out its statutory obligations. I am satisfied that the agency's resources are adequate to meet its needs.
