Question:133 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Defence the position regarding the refurbishment of the Curragh swimming pool; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19293/99]

Detailed design drawings and specifications for the new pool are at an advanced stage of preparation. It is anticipated that the tender competition for the construction project comprising the building of the new pool and the upgrading of the existing gymnasium will be held towards the end of next month and that a contract will be in place early next year.
