257 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will make a grant available to St. Patrick's infants' national school towards resurfacing and marking of outdoor playing facilities in view of the fact that the present facilities are extremely dangerous and unsafe for children. An application for grant assistance towards providing a play yard at St. Patrick's infants' national school, Gardiner's Hill, Cork, was received in my Department on 16 September 1999.

The question of providing grant aid for the pro ject will be considered following a technical assessment of the existing facilities.
