Vol. 508 No. 4

Written Answers. - Employee Shareholding Schemes.

Ivan Yates

Question:

120 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the amount the State paid for the cost of the initial public offering in Telecom Éireann; if she will give a breakdown of the way in which these moneys were paid; and the further costs, if any, outstanding relating to the share sale. [19341/99]

I refer the Deputy to my previous reply of Wednesday, 29 September 1999. As stated in my previous reply, the total cost of the Telecom Éireann IPO has not been finalised as some invoices have not been received and some consultancy work is ongoing. Since my previous reply Citigate Dewe Rogerson has received a payment of £106,206, excluding VAT and Sitel has received a payment of £92,124, excluding VAT.

Payments of costs associated with the IPO are made following the receipt of an invoice and are subject to the deduction of withholding tax, where appropriate.
