Vol. 509 No. 1

Written Answers. - Farm Retirement Scheme.

Dan Neville

Question:

166 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if applications under the farm retirement scheme and the installation aid scheme were not being processed at any time due to illness of a staff member in his Department's office in Limerick; if so, the period of time involved; the plans, if any, he has to deal with the resulting backlog of applications; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19811/99]

A backlog of applications under the early retirement and installation aid schemes built up during the absence on sick leave of a rural development and environment inspector.

The inspector concerned has now returned to work and is dealing with the backlog in conjunction with other priority work.
