Vol. 509 No. 1

Written Answers. - Speech Therapy Service.

Deirdre Clune

Question:

188 Ms Clune asked the Minister for Health and Children the individual responsible for providing speech and language therapy for children attending special classes in mainstream schools; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19479/99]

The provision of speech and language therapy services, including the provision of such services for special classes in mainstream schools, is the responsibility of the health boards. In some cases, this service is delivered on behalf of a health board by a specialist voluntary agency.
