244 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the number of applications received in respect of the recent centenary of the local government community initiative awards scheme; the successful applicants; the awards received in each case; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19548/99]

The centenary community initiative award scheme was part of the national programme to celebrate the centenary of local government. Awards under the scheme were made in accordance with the recommendations of an independent adjudication committee. A total of 45 applications was received. Details of successful applicants and the awards are set out as follows:
