309 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when he intends to bring the Courts and Court Officers Act, 1995, into operation in order to transfer the jurisdiction for criminal and courts martial appeals to the Supreme Court; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As has been stated in previous replies, this matter has been considered in the context of a review of the position regarding arrears of appeals before the Supreme Court. Significant progress has been made in this review, and I hope to be in a position to actively consider the making of a commencement order within the next six months.
