Vol. 509 No. 1

Written Answers. - Departmental Properties.

Tony Gregory

Question:

349 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Education and Science the plans, if any, there are for the future use of the buildings currently occupied by the north Dublin national school project. [19766/99]

The building currently occupied by the north Dublin school project is a former model school which is vested in the Minister for Finance under the State Property Act, 1954.

Proposals are with my Department at present to provide a new school for the north Dublin school project on an alternative site and plans for this development are ongoing.

The north Dublin school project's lease on the former model school will expire when the building is vacated. Any decision on the future use of that building, by way of lease or tenancy agreement, will be a matter for the Commissioners of Public Works.
