Vol. 509 No. 1

Written Answers. - Work Permits.

Willie Penrose

Question:

119 Mr. Penrose asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the procedure and requirement to be undertaken by a citizen of the United States of America who wishes to come to and work in Ireland; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [19963/99]

Under the terms of the Aliens (Amendment) (No 2) Order 1999, a non-European economic area national may not enter or be in the service of an employer in the State except in accordance with a work permit issued by me. Applications for such permits, which should be made by the proposed employer, must be made to the work permit section of my Department at Room 1.05, Davitt House, Adelaide Road, Dublin 2.
