77 Mr. S. Ryan asked the Minister for Education and Science his views on the relative fund ing of the various sectors of education; the plans, if any, he has to prioritise for reasons of equity the provision of additional funding to the pre-school and primary sectors relative to that in third level; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The funding for the various sectors of the education system is under active consideration at present in the context of the preparation of the Estimates for my Department for the year 2000. Details will be announced in due course. I would, however, point out to the Deputy that this Government has already implemented major funding improvements for each sector. This includes the largest ever increase in direct funding for primary schools.
